Afghanistan
A Country in Crisis and Perpetual Conflict
Afghanistan continues to face extreme instability due to decades of conflict, political turmoil, and the recent Taliban resurgence. The country has an estimated 3.5 million displaced people, with over 18 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. The economic collapse, coupled with widespread poverty and food insecurity, has left over 70% of the population living below the poverty line. Religious minorities, especially Christians, face severe persecution under Taliban rule, with Christians forced to practice their faith in secret due to the threat of violence, imprisonment, or death. This persecution, alongside the ongoing political and social unrest, has caused a significant decline in the Christian population, further complicating the situation for those still remaining.
Our Response
Our team is currently in Afghanistan, providing:
- Support for orphans
- Education initiatives
- Basic necessities
In the midst of Afghanistan’s ongoing crisis, we are working to bring hope and stability to some of the country’s most vulnerable—its children. We support orphans and other children in need by providing safe learning environments for boys and girls who otherwise would have no access to schooling. In a place where survival is often uncertain, our work aims to restore dignity, provide opportunity, and shine light into one of the world’s darkest humanitarian situations.
