Moldova

A Nation on the Frontlines of a Humanitarian Crisis

As the war in neighboring Ukraine continues, Moldova has become one of the primary destinations for refugees—hosting over 1 million people who have crossed its borders since the conflict began. The majority are women and children, fleeing violence with no safe place to go. Moldova, one of Europe’s poorest countries, is grappling with the strain on its already fragile economy and healthcare system. Over 100,000 refugees are currently residing in Moldova long-term, placing enormous pressure on housing, medical services, and local infrastructure.

Thousands arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs, many suffering from trauma, illness, and severe emotional distress. Access to consistent medical care is limited, and the need for hygiene supplies, clothing, and shelter far outweighs local capacity. With more than 60% of arriving refugees requiring humanitarian aid, Moldova stands as a critical yet under-resourced front in Europe’s growing refugee crisis.

Our Response

Our team is actively working in Moldova to provide:

  • Medical care and trauma support
  • Emergency aid for displaced women and children
  • Clothing, hygiene kits, and essential supplies
  • Support for local partners and shelters caring for refugees

We are committed to standing with Moldova during this time of intense need. Our teams deliver emergency medical care to victims of war, particularly women and children left vulnerable by conflict. We distribute essential supplies—such as clothing, hygiene kits, and medical items—to help restore dignity and meet basic needs. We also strengthen local efforts by partnering with community shelters and aid organizations to expand their capacity and reach. In every effort, we strive to bring comfort, care, and compassion to those who have lost everything.
