We are so encouraged by the resilience and hope we are seeing in the communities we serve. This past month, our teams have continued to stand alongside Christian families facing persecution, displacement, and poverty across the globe. From equipping students in Egypt, to supporting orphans and families in Syria, to empowering farmers and entrepreneurs in Kenya, your prayers and partnership are helping people move from survival toward stability, dignity, and hope.
Here are the highlights from September!
EGYPT
Supporting Christian Students:
In the remote town of Durunka, Central Egypt, Christian families face growing pressures that threaten to uproot them from their sacred homeland. Rising extremism has left many with little choice but to consider leaving for safer countries, weakening communities that have endured for centuries.
Our team stepped in to stand beside them. This September, we provided schoolbooks, bags, and essential stationery for 150 Christian students, ensuring they are equipped for the new academic year. Beyond education, this support gives families hope that their children can remain rooted in their land, preserving faith and heritage in the face of adversity.
JORDAN
Medical Support for Displaced Iraqis:
In the wake of ISIS’s invasion, many Iraqi Christians fled their destroyed villages, seeking refuge in Jordan. Today, around 75 of these families in Amman remain without help from the government, UNHCR, or other organizations, left to face illness and hardship on their own.
We stepped in to cover the cost of hundreds of medical prescriptions, ensuring that displaced men, women, and children received the treatment they desperately needed. Working alongside the Syriac Orthodox Church, our team is helping these families hold on to hope and faith until brighter days arrive.
KENYA
Rebecca's Success Story:
In Narok County, Kenya, 63-year-old Rebecca Mitei Korir turned resilience and opportunity into a story of hope. With support from our team, she raised 200 chicks, selling 130 and keeping 70 to grow her small farm.
The income from her efforts has already paid school fees for five orphans, provided hybrid maize seeds for planting, and even purchased an indigenous milk cow. Rebecca is now planning to buy one acre of land to expand her work further.
More Farmers Equipped to Succeed:
We supported another 40 farmers by providing maize seeds and fertilizers to strengthen their harvests.
This initiative not only improves food security but also strengthens the livelihoods of Christian families in the region. By equipping farmers with the tools they need, we are helping communities move toward self-reliance and long-term stability.
SYRIA
Community Kitchen Update:
Last month, we shared about the launch of a community kitchen designed to bring both nourishment and opportunity to displaced Christians. This September, the project has grown into a vital lifeline.
It is now leading cooking courses for Christian women, equipping them with skills to start small businesses and provide for their families. At the same time, the kitchen is distributing daily meals and food packages, reaching around 500 Christians throughout the month. This initiative is not only feeding the hungry but also creating pathways toward dignity and long-term stability.
Safe House in Damascus:
In Damascus, more than 270 displaced Christians from the South have found refuge in a safe house within a monastery. These families, once threatened with violence and persecution in their homelands, now have a place of protection and care.
Our team is ensuring that this sanctuary remains a true haven. By providing daily meals, fuel for generators, and support for the families of the guards who protect the monastery, TBP is meeting urgent needs and safeguarding a community under constant pressure. In the heart of crisis, this safe house stands as a beacon of security and hope.
Medical Relief for Displaced Families:
After the recent massacres in Central Syria, many Christian families were forced to flee with nothing, left vulnerable and without access to medical care. Elderly and chronically ill community members faced particular hardship, with no resources for treatment.
In response, our team mobilized to provide urgent medical relief. A doctor was brought in to examine and care for the elderly, while also addressing severe and chronic cases among the displaced. This effort is currently supporting more than 180 Christians along the Syrian coast, offering not only treatment but also compassion in a time of deep suffering.
Orphan Support:
On the Syrian coast, nearly 80 orphans and vulnerable Christian children, many of whom lost their parents during the war, are receiving care and support through food and school supplies.
Our team distributed breakfast during school recess, ensuring these children begin their day nourished and ready to learn. Alongside meals, we provided school uniforms, books, and pencil cases, giving them the tools to study and thrive throughout the year. In a place marked by loss, this project offers both practical help and a reminder that these children are not forgotten.
Thank you for walking alongside us as we serve the persecuted and displaced. Every meal shared, every child equipped for school, and every seed sown is a reminder that God is faithful and His people are not forgotten. Your continued support makes these stories of hope and resilience possible.
