July 2025: Updates From The Field

Here is another monthly highlight of the incredible projects we worked on in July. From feeding the forgotten in rural India to empowering farmers and entrepreneurs in Africa and the Middle East, each effort has brought hope, dignity, and tangible change to communities in need.

We wish we could share every story, but here are some of the highlights that show what your partnership is making possible.

INDIA

Feeding the Forgotten in Rural Communities:

In remote regions of India, our team provided critical food support to widows, the elderly, and rural pastors. Reaching over 1,200 individuals in desperate need.

These faithful servants, often overlooked and under-resourced, were uplifted through simple but powerful acts of compassion. This project is a reminder that even in the most isolated corners, we can bring dignity, care, and hope to those holding their communities together in quiet strength.

IRAQ

Restoring Learning and Hope in Tal Kayf:

In the war-torn Christian village of Tal Kayf near Mosul, our team is partnering with Father Touma to launch a new library and after-school tutoring program for over 300 children and adults.

Equipped with laptops, books, and scanning machines, the library will give villagers the tools and support they need to continue their education and rebuild their lives. As the first of many efforts to strengthen the Christian presence in northern Iraq, this project is about more than learning; it's about helping a community survive and thrive in the land they’ve called home for generations.

LEBANON

Caring for Displaced Elderly Families in Crisis:

As war continues to destabilize southern Lebanon, seven elderly Christian families were forced to flee their homes with nothing, left alone and unsupported in unfamiliar areas.

Our team stepped in to adopt each of these families, covering their rent for the next 3 to 6 months and providing essential food and medication. In a time of fear and displacement, this project offers more than aid; it brings dignity, stability, and the reassurance that they are not forgotten.

KENYA

School Farm Support Update:

This July, our team helped harvest fresh food for the 150 students at Green Peak Academy.

With 32 sacks of maize and 9 sacks of beans from our 7-acre farm, plus sweet potatoes, cassava, bananas, sugarcane, and avocados, this farm is not only nourishing the students but taking steps toward long-term sustainability. The consistent yields from these crops have helped diversify their food intake, providing students with a range of nutrients that contribute to their overall health and academic performance.

Empowering 50 Farming Households in Osingo Village:

In Osingo village, 50 farming households cultivate maize, beans, avocados, and sweet potatoes, while also raising animals and planting trees; however, they face limited water, poor access to seeds and tools, and high supply costs.

With our team's support, the group is now receiving water management solutions, modern farming tools, high-quality seeds, and fertilizers. These resources will boost productivity, improve harvests, and help secure a better future for the farmers and their families for generations to come.

Supporting a Widow’s Brick-Making Business:

Tabitha Onango, a 37-year-old widow and mother of six, turned to brick moulding to support her family after losing her husband in 2018. Through sheer determination, she produced and sold 3,000 bricks, earning about $175 USD, but faced major challenges, including limited tools and no reliable water source.

Our team stepped in to provide a brick-laying machine, dig a well for her site, and offer financial support for her children’s school fees. These resources have boosted her productivity, secured her water needs, and eased financial burdens, empowering her to grow her business and provide a stable future for her family.

NIGERIA

Fertilizer Distribution and Farm Update:

In the second phase of our agriculture project, 135 widows received organic fertilizer to support the cultivation of their land.

This initiative has not only strengthened the farms, but the women behind them. With fields now flourishing, the upcoming harvest is expected to provide sustenance for over 2,000 children and their families. In a region where women are often left without support, this project is sowing far more than crops, it’s planting resilience, nourishment, and the hope of a self-sustaining future.

SYRIA

Seed Production Initiative:

Supporting over 150 Christian farming families near Aamouda through seed production and sustainable agriculture.

Our team launched a small business to help local farmers grow stronger crops by producing and distributing high-quality seeds. Over 800 Christians will benefit from this initiative, which provides not only better harvests but also hope for long-term stability.

With training sessions and year-round planning, this project is opening the door to job opportunities and empowering families to reclaim their land and future.

Tree Planting Project:

Our team planted roughly 350 apple, olive, and almond trees across just over an acre of land owned by 20 Christian farmers in Al Mansouri, East Syria.

With new land laws threatening to confiscate unused land, these farmers are now protecting their property through sustainable agriculture. Unlike crops that must be replanted each year, these trees will produce fruit for generations, ensuring food security, income, and legal land ownership for families determined to stay rooted in their homeland.

Relief for the Survivors of the St. Elias Church Bombing:

On June 22, 2025, a devastating terrorist attack shook the Greek Orthodox Mar Elias Church in the Dweila district of Damascus during evening liturgy. A masked attacker opened fire and detonated an explosive device, killing over 20 worshippers, including children and injuring more than 50 others.

In the aftermath of this brutal act, our team rushed to the scene to bring immediate relief to the grieving and wounded Christian community. We distributed food and essentials packages to around 250 survivors, offering comfort to those who had lost family, neighbors, and friends.

This support is a testament to our continued commitment to stand with Syria’s Christians in their darkest hour, bringing presence, peace, and provision where tragedy has tried to take hold.
