January 2026: Updates From The Field

With our continued support, lives are being positively impacted in meaningful ways across the Middle East and Africa. From expanding educational opportunities and strengthening food security in Kenya to providing critical medical care in Lebanon and Syria, these initiatives are helping vulnerable communities find stability, dignity, and hope.

Here are the highlights from January:

KENYA

Education Support:

Our team provided educational support to 90 students across 10 different schools, ensuring they had the resources needed to continue their studies and succeed. This support included covering school fees, providing meals through feeding programs, and supplying essential items such as books, uniforms, and other learning materials. By addressing both academic and basic needs, this initiative helps improve school attendance, strengthen academic performance, and reduce barriers to education, creating greater opportunities and long-term hope for these students and their communities.

Agriculture Initiative Growth:

We started another agricultural initiative to equip local farmers with the tools and knowledge needed to cultivate avocados, helping increase income and food security for local villages. Seedlings have been sourced for grafting, pilot project participants have been identified, and seed beds are being established, while participating farmers receive hands-on training to ensure long-term success.

In addition, the maize we planted in September is now nearing harvest, with early signs pointing to a promising yield. These efforts strengthen food security, create income opportunities, and support long-term economic stability for farming families and their communities.

LEBANON

Medical Campaign in Southern Lebanon:

Our team in Southern Lebanon conducted a one-week medical campaign to support vulnerable Christian families facing ongoing economic hardship and limited access to healthcare. During the campaign, more than 250 medication packages were distributed to around 50 individuals, ensuring they received the treatment they needed for their conditions. In addition, two doctors were arranged to examine and assess each patient, providing professional care and guidance for a range of illnesses. This initiative helped address urgent medical needs while offering continued support and dignity to those facing difficult circumstances.

SYRIA

Treatment for War Victims:

In East Syria, we provided urgent medical assistance to a young boy and an elderly woman who were seriously injured when a bomb struck their neighborhood during the war against ISIS. Support included essential medications, a wheelchair, hospital visits, and two months of ongoing treatment and care. This assistance not only helped stabilize their health but also ensured they received the continued medical attention they otherwise could not afford, bringing relief and renewed hope during their recovery.
