Zeno is a retired Army noncommissioned officer and retired Federal civilian. During his 30-year career with the government, within the Pentagon and at duty stations throughout the globe, he served in various roles as a manager and advisor for senior executives during many worldwide deployments. He has taken on roles of providing critical assistance to refugees and persecuted peoples during times of war, humanitarian crises and natural disasters in places such as the former Yugoslavia region, the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. In recognition for his service his past awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. Zeno continues to devote his life to assisting people around the world and being a champion of human rights. It is his hope to one day live in a world where the most vulnerable among us are shielded from abuses of power and are protected from cruelty.
